So I'm coming back for season 11 of the LaVar Burton Reads Podcast starting November

1st.

There'll be some twists and turns, some malfunctioning magic, a bakery truck driver who's hailed

as a hero, an arcade game that might be a portal to alternative futures.

And of course, a story that takes you to the center of the earth.

Here's a little bit of one of our upcoming episodes featuring a story by the inimitable

Stephen Graham Jones.

It's entitled, I was a teenage space jockey, and it's about a native boy who's trying

to follow in his older brother's footsteps by capturing the high score on the arcade

game Defender.

Dutifully, we plugged Gallica back in, and after holding the quarter up between us, honoring

its power, its promise, its birth year, I kissed it, thumbed it into the slot.

It fell through to the change return.

The hell?

Martin said.

I inserted it again, and again, it rattled down to that metal flap.

Martin tried.

Same thing.

We tried shooting it through harder.
