I'm Eric Kulterman, and my guest today is Gray Albright of Razball.

We're going to be doing a week one hype check on all of the most talked about players from draft season,

figure out who already looks like they were maybe overdrafted, who looks like we were on to the right guy.

But, you know, Gray, something we were not onto at all during draft season was torpedo bats.

Are you buying the hype? Do you think that this is going to be the year of the torpedo bat?

We're going to see offense like crazy? Or do you think, you know, we got to talk about something

and that's out there?

Yeah. I mean, I think it's a little bit of all those. You know, when I originally saw the

torpedo bat in Yankee Stadium with, you know, J.S. Chisholm Jr. and Anthony Volpe and the rest of the Yankees,

aside from Aaron Judge, using a torpedo bat, and they went off there against the brewers.

And I was, you know, I was swept up in the torpedo bat hype as well.

And then I thought about it, and I was like, you know, Nestor Cortez isn't good, right?

I mean, he's not really good.

Aaron Savalier, not really great either.

Yankee Stadium is also a very hitter-friendly park.

So, you know, then at that point, I started backing off of the torpedo bat hype.

And now I'm sort of like in the middle a little bit.
