It is time to get to work here.

We got a fun pod.

We got to catch up, of course, on news.

And then I wanted to go through and look at a little history here because I was inspired to do this by the Cavs

starting 13 and 0 and whether they would actually be a championship contender.

And certainly they were not particularly high in the preseason odds for NBA champion.

But I want to go back and look at see, how common is it that you have a team kind

of come out of nowhere?

Because, of course, the reputation for the NBA is, oh, there's only a few contenders

every year, you know who's going to win it every year.

That has long been a criticism.

So I think that's changing, of course, because we haven't had a repeat champion in some

time. But during the heyday of the Bulls and the Lakers and stuff, people talk about that all the time.

So I want to go back and kind of look at some of these surprise champions over the years, at least in very brief form.

But let's start with the fact, Danny, that Victor Wembenyama put up his first 50-point game against the Washington

Wizards last night. I did not watch it live, but I went back and watched all of Wembe Nama's

minutes, and it was an impressive performance overall. I think that the place to kind of start

discussing it is that Wembeiyama scored 50 built overwhelmingly on the jump shot.

Not only was Wembe Nama 8 of 16 from 3, but overall he took 29 shots from the field.

21 of those were jumpers, were shots outside the paint.
