Summary

The Mets' most successful free agent signing, Carlos Beltran, is back in the Orange and Blue! After missing out on Joe Girardi the Wilpons did what they always do, retread. The question is, will Beltran remain pristine and Mets-proof or will he suffer the same fate as so many managers before him? Are we getting the media-hating Beltran of the past or the new school clubhouse guy that the Yankees and Astros raved about? Say what you will about Carlos Beltran, but the guy was as pure of a talent as Flushing has ever seen. Who knows, if this pans out we could be getting the entire '06 crew back together. Uncle Cliffy, Paul Lo Duca, Jose Valentine, anyone but Aaron Heilman. AND Beltran has said that he'd love to have Terry Collins as his bench coach so our asses may be back in the jackpot!

The guys try to figure out a way to get CB's walkup song back into the mix, we discover that Clem and Beltran share a sacred bond and we discuss the preposterous odds that Vegas is giving the Mets to sign Rendon. As a fellow baseball hater he'd be the perfect signing both on and off the field, but even the high of a new manager can't convince us that the Wilpons are ready to open up the checkbook.

We'll be cautiously optimistic until something goes wrong, but until then we gotta believe!!!!
