Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P. is an adjunct professor of dogmatic theology at the Dominican House of Studies and an Assistant Director of the Thomistic Institute. He is the author of a few books including Prudence: Choose Confidently, Live Boldly. His writing also appears in Ascension’s Catholic ClassicsMagnificat, and Aleteia. Right. So the soul possesses the body. Right. So bodily things, you know, physical things

are going to be, you know, resonating through or kind of pulsing through spiritual things, right?

Which is the reason for which we can't simply leave them aside or abstract them

in silly ways. All right, but I think it can be helpful just to divide amongst physical things

and emotional things, psychological things, and spiritual things. And you can see how this cashes out

in something simple like forgiveness, for instance. Say that you want to forgive someone and in the presence of the blessed

sacrament, let's say that this person has died. Okay. So it's not something that you're

necessarily going to work out with them in flesh and kind of living communion in the here

and now. But in the presence of the blessed sacrament, you know, you say, Lord, I ask for

the grace to forgive. I choose to forgive. And then maybe you name the person and say,
