0:00.0	So I am a woman in my 30s. I got married about nine months ago and I am beginning to think about
0:09.8	starting a family. I should say that I am very excited to be a mom. That being said, I always thought
0:18.5	and hoped that I would feel more professionally stable when I was entering this chapter.
0:24.6	And that is not the case right now.
0:27.5	I should say I work in the media industry, which is a historically unstable industry.
0:34.2	But I was very fortunate to have staff positions at different media companies throughout my career until recently when I took a contract position and then went freelance.
0:43.3	And there have been a lot of changes going on specifically in the podcast industry where I work.
0:49.3	A lot of layoffs, a lot of companies shuddering, just really bleak out there.
0:54.3	And I've been struggling to find my next project.
0:57.8	And I remember when I was ending my last position, it was right after we got married,
1:03.1	and my husband and I were talking about family planning.
1:05.3	And I said, you know, I really want one more project that I'm proud of under my belt
1:10.4	before we think about having children
1:13.1	and he totally understood.
1:15.2	You know, I really wanted something else on my resume, but also, you know, just prove to
1:19.3	myself that, you know, the things I'd done in the past weren't a fluke and I could really
1:24.5	feel like my, I had my two feet on the ground in the industry,
1:28.9	knowing that it only gets harder after you have kids.
1:32.6	I feel like my work has wrapped up a lot in my identity,
1:35.2	and I'm very proud of that, and proud of the work that I do.
1:38.1	I want to honor that and think about that
1:41.7	and weigh that into my decision into having children, but I also don't want to be
