The first world is the one I was born into, a world of scarcity, of a world of not enough,

where I always felt like a victim because of my financial status.

I had a single mom who raised me, six kids, five boys and one girl.

She worked two jobs. One is a second

grade teacher, packed our dinners in a paper bag, and drove us around in a country square

station wagon to fill up turnstiles at convenience stores with greeting cards just so we could

eat. Sometimes my mom, with her understanding of scarcity and still being completely abundant. I remember my mom actually

buying food with food stamps and buying pencils as well for second grade class because the school

didn't supply those at the time. It's a nuance of an infinite loop of giving in which I've learned to what abundance is.
