So we're a weekly podcast, right?

And I try to make an interesting show every week, but some shows punch above the rest,

and they connect with people on a whole other level.

I can't always pick which shows those are going to be.

Sometimes I can. But one of our most popular episodes of the last two years is one we did on chatter, the chatter

that fills your head when your inner voice, which normally helps you with thinking and reflecting,

gets hijacked by worry and rumination.

For the next couple of nights, I was a chatter-filled mess.

I kept thinking, why did I go on television?

As the comments on that episode rolled in, which I should mention is called controlling

the chatter in your head, I knew we'd have to get Professor Ethan Cross back on the show again.

Like a fancy, super fancy mic.

So we did.

Ethan is a professor of psychology at the University of Michigan.
