Hello and welcome to another episode of the fully charged show podcast.

We do live events. I'm sure you know this and when I was at one of the recent ones in London at the Excel in London

I very briefly met a charming young man and his son who was looking around the show and we had a brief

discussion and he is a lung specialist he's a doctor and he's a lung specialist and

he was quite interesting to talk to you just in that brief time I registered some anger about

air pollution about the arguments that are used to justify the continued use of

fossil fuels.

Things like clean diesel and catalytic converters

make it pure and it's all, my car is really clean.

All those things, all those arguments

we've been lied to about by the motor manufacturers and particularly the oil industry.

And so I was really thrilled when I managed to get in touch with him and ask him to come on a podcast,

and that's what we're talking about today.

Dr. Anant Patel is a lung specialist that's his main thing that he looks

after and he treats people with serious lung issues at the Royal Free Hospital in London.

And he was on duty when he found a gap in his schedule at the hospital when we spoke which was amazing and I think I should do a I guess a warning because we do discuss lung cancer we discuss deaths related to air pollution and to smoking.

It's a wide-ranging discussion that covers all those things.
