Welcome back to Real Pop with Victoria Garrick. Today's episode I am going to be giving you

the answer to the question everyone has, which is how do I become more confident? I get

so many DMs about this, you know, I lack confidence in school. I'm not confident on the

court when I get out there to play. I'm not confident in my relationship in my family

situation. Everyone just wants to know how they can be confident and they can stop doubting

themselves. And the thing about confidence is there is an answer. Confidence does come

from one place. And when I first was asked this question, actually I was in a classroom

when I first learned where confidence comes from. And the professor, this was a performance

mindset class. So the professor said, does anyone know where confidence comes from? And

I think my gut instinct was, you know, there, there's no place like it's something you

have to manifest or you have to create or you have to build. But the truth is there's

an answer. And what this professor had told us and his name was Dr. Michael Jervais, he

said, confidence comes from inner dialogue, which are the things we tell ourselves. So

at the most basic level, the voice inside of your head that goes all day long telling

you stories about who you are and what you're doing, that voice is your key to confidence.

Are you confident or not? And the stories we tell ourselves have so much power and we honestly

don't put enough time and energy into that voice. Think about it. This morning you woke

up and you told yourself some stories. Think about what you told yourself when you woke

up this morning, did you look into the mirror and say, up, blow it again or, you know, arms

don't look good. Or did you get up and say, oh, another day going to be around people

I hate at a job I hate. Or did you wake up and say, you know, today is another day at

school where I'm not cool. Regardless, you woke up and you told yourself something this morning.
