and look forward to our resurrection.

Today we're joined by Dr. Esau-McCalli to explore a crucial question about Lent.

Why do we give stuff up for it?

While some Christians focus a lot on the question of what we give up and when,

Christians have even thought about the right way to fast for Lent, this conversation focuses on why we fast at all,

and why during these particular 40 days. As Dr. McCauley answers these questions, don't miss

something important. He is showing us how throughout the biblical story, God guides

his people into greater knowledge of him through the regular rhythms of their life together.

The God who made us knows we need help remembering him and remembering what he has done for us,

and he graciously gives us a story to live into

and ways to tell each other that story over and over again in our life together.
