In this episode, I share how I've shifted my habits and way of living since moving to Texas from NYC. While I used to believe in hurrying, busy-ness, and pursuing more, I've recently shifted my mindset to being content with simplicity. From prioritizing my quiet time with God, allowing the space for slowness, and shifting how I spend my time, I've tried to embrace a slower life. This episode is inspired by my takeaways from The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer, a book I HIGHLY recommend!

0:15.8 | you're listening to this, when you're listening, I'm having a great day is actually Friday |
0:20.5 | when I'm recording this. And I typically, actually I typically do record these close |
0:26.0 | to the end of the week because I like to give kind of a summary of my week and I think |
0:30.1 | it's easier to do that on a Friday. But today's podcast is just honestly kind of a come |
0:36.3 | to Jesus moment with myself. The funny thing is I sat down to actually write out this podcast |
0:42.8 | thinking of kind of when I moved back from when I moved from New York City to Texas, things |
0:48.0 | that I learned about embracing like a slow life and really trying to eliminate habits |
0:53.3 | of heriness and busyness. I don't really know if heriness is a word, but I think busyness |
0:58.2 | is. And I was writing it and I was just thinking, you know what, I actually don't have all |
1:04.6 | of these things down. Like I'm still learning so much and especially when it comes to kind |
1:12.0 | of living a quiet life and prioritizing my walk with God and prioritizing my prayer life |
1:18.7 | and my spiritual life. And so I do just want to give a disclaimer that this is going to be |
1:23.3 | a more like faith based podcast. I still think that these topics, even if you're not a Christian, |
1:29.3 | do really apply to you, but a lot of it is kind of centered on actually all of it is centered |
1:33.9 | on my relationship with God. And that kind of being on the back burner lately, |
1:39.9 | and me just feeling very convicted in prioritizing the wrong things and focusing on the wrong |
1:46.8 | things, I am literally about to start crying and it's like two minutes into this podcast, |
1:52.8 | but it really is just kind of an emotional thing for me because I think in life, sometimes we |
1:58.8 | get so caught up in living life out through kind of the basic things of your job and your |
2:04.4 | relationship and your family and kind of going through the motions. And it has quite honestly |
2:10.5 | been a very long time since I just sat down and kind of asked myself, you know, how am I doing |
