This week I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Laura J. Martin. She's a professor of environmental studies at Williams College and a past fellow of the American Council of Learned Societies,

the Stanford Humanity Center, and the Harvard University Center for the environment.

She's written for several popular outlets like The Washington Post, Time Magazine, the LA Times, and Scientific American.

And she has a new book out.

It's called Wild by Design, The Rise of Ecological Restoration. So without any further ado, here she is Dr. Laura J. Martin.

So I'm excited to talk about your newest book, Wild by Design, The Rise of Ecological Restoration.

It's now in paperback. The book's been out for a little bit. Have there been changes between

the original and the paperback form? No, the paperback is a lighter, more portable form of the original book.

There have been some changes to what's going on with

ecological restoration since the book, the hardback came out in 2022. And here we are talking in

2025. So there's, there's certainly big changes that have happened, both with what's happening
