Thank you. True Crime Podcast. On Thursday, March 21st, 2024, a federal appeals court in Boston,

ordered that the case of Boston Marathon Bomber Joker

Charnayev be returned to a lower court. Charnayev's lawyers argued that two jurors were

dishonest during the jury selection process of the original trial and had lied about discussing

or interacting with posts about the case on social media before being seated. In a two-to-one vote,

the three-judge panel concluded that the investigation into the claims of juror bias had not

been adequately probed. The order keeps Sharniaf's death sentence intact for now. However,

depending on the investigation of the lower court, a new penalty phase could overturn

Tarniaf's death sentence.

The news comes as a devastating blow to the survivors of the attack, as well as the families

of the three people killed in the bombing.

April 15th marks the 11th anniversary of the attack.
