Working the golf balls both ways. Let's talk about the idea of moving the golf ball right to left, left to right.

Is it something you should be doing?

Me personally, I think it is a skill I do like to work with with students regardless if they use

it or not because it gives them quite a good range of movement, Lou and Greg. How do we want to

approach this? Because there are different ways of thinking about this. If we talk about Lou first,

the idea of how you might apply statistics or

pin positions and ideas around working the both ways, which often are linked up and together,

aren't they? What's the logic in that? Left pin should be drawing it, right pin, fading it for

right hand in golfers. Those are ideas that still get chucked around. I mean, I've never been a fan of them personally.

Where would the statistician address working the ball both ways as the pros and the cons?

I would say with the data that I've looked at, I've done some testing around this topic.

And I think people, people, someone, most golfers tend to be better shaping

it one direction rather than the other. Whatever their stock shape happens to be, most golfers

tend to be better in one direction. One of the interesting studies I did was with Driver.

And there were a lot of players that were about the same, shaping it both ways.

It was about a third of the players, I believe, from what I saw, which shocked me.

I was not expecting it.
