Summary

Matt Lucas, the president of Our Daily Bread, maintains that the organization has not shifted its doctrinal convictions, yet lists celebrating diversity as a historic, biblical Christian teaching alongside salvation in Christ alone and the infallibility of Scripture. I don't think anyone working for Our Daily Bread in 1938 would have said this. The fact is, Our Daily Bread has been trafficking in social justice teachings in the MeToo and BLM vein for a few years. Jon reviews some of these teachings so that Our Daily Bread readers can be informed and make up their own minds.

Welcome to the Conversations That Matter podcast. I'm your host John Harris. We have a long podcast today.

0:18.0

We're going to be talking about our daily bread ministries. And many of you have asked me

0:21.8

about this and I promise to do one. So here is me keeping my promise. I have a letter in front of me.

0:26.9

This is to one of the listeners of this podcast from the president of our daily bread ministries.

0:32.7

His name is Matt Lucas. And he writes a letter in defense of Our Daily Bread against podcasts such as mine,

0:40.5

where I suggested that they had compromised or promoted social justice ideology last fall.

0:47.7

I showed you some examples of that beyond just the conference that he mentions in this.

0:52.2

I'll read it to you in a second, but also stuff from their website, from their X page.

0:57.3

And so he essentially denies that our daily bread ministries has changed at all,

1:04.0

that they are compromising on any of their convictions.

1:06.8

None of this is true.

1:08.1

He wishes people like myself would reach out to him.

1:10.6

And so I'm going to give you a reaction to out to him. And so I'm going to give

1:11.5

you a reaction to all of this. And then I'm going to play you some content from their website and,

1:15.8

or at least from their YouTube channel. And frankly, I'm just scratching the service on the content

1:20.3

that's out there promoted by, financed by our daily bread ministries that is social justice. That

1:26.2

frankly even compromises the gospel. You're

1:28.4

going to be a little surprised if you are someone who really likes Our Daily Bread, which many in this

1:33.0

audience apparently do, and you see what Our Daily Bread has been promoting. And it might make you

1:38.5

wonder whether or not you should be giving your finances to our daily bread ministry. So

1:43.0

it doesn't do me any pleasure to bring

1:47.3

you this information. I don't like listening to hours of woke content. I mean, I've obviously
