Amen. I'm excited to be kicking off a new collection today called the One Thing,

starting an unpredictable year with unshakable hope. Amen? By show of hands, did anybody in the room

set some New Year's resolutions for the year?

You can raise your hands. It's okay. Awesome. People like, I'm not sure, am I about to get attacked or not. I'm not coming for anybody that set a New Year's resolution. I will say that I read an article in the USA today over the last few days that said some of the top

resolutions made by Americans this year were save more money, eat healthier, and exercise more.

And I'm for all those things. So way to go if you did set any of those resolutions. But the

article also said, apparently we as a people are not that resolute.

We now have a day known as quitter's day. Did you know this? It was Friday. I'm sure some of you

celebrated. It's called quitter's day because the overwhelming majority of Americans who made resolutions

have given up on their resolutions by the second Friday of January.

Two weeks!

And there's always this thing playing in my mind, you know, around the turn of a new year,

like whispering in my ear, like, should I even make the effort, you know, are you really going

to run this year?

Should I get, you know, get all the dust off the Peloton, activate my membership again,

you know, should I do that?

And what I've learned is that year after year, I'm almost

less inclined to make resolutions. I just don't want to get my hopes up when I know that the odds are,

I ain't making it to the third week of January. It's a tough thing to get your hopes up and then to be disappointed, isn't it?
