Hey everybody welcome back to Cole Case murder mysteries. I'm your host Ryan Kraus taking this tour bus back down into the depths of the human mind

where we'll examine the incredibly fascinating yet baffling 1993 disappearance of David Lewis

from Amarillo, Texas. So what we'll do first is outline the events

to the best of our ability and then we'll assemble the psychological narrative from there.

So I'm probably going to stay on the rails here for the first part

where we actually just talk about what happened.

And then for the analysis, well well I'm going to go a bit off the

rails it's going to get a little bit messy so this case was recommended to me by

the prosecutor's podcast undoubtedly because it's batshit crazy from a behavioral standpoint, and that's

essentially my specialty.

It's a story they covered in an episode a couple of weeks ago, so if you're looking for a sane

neurotypical rendering of this case, derived from reason and logic,

I highly recommend checking it out because what I'm about to do

will be a far cry from those standards.

We won't be looking at what we think happened.

Rather, we'll deconstruct the narrative physically to try to extract meaning.

So to give a bit of background on our subject, apparently David Lewis played football in college for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, which means he would have been a high school football star preceding that time as Texas Tech is a prominent program

in a state known for prioritizing the sport of football.

For comparison, in the NFL today, Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes

is someone who also played that same position at Texas Tech.

Now covering this case is a bit traumatic for me because we have to go back to a time in which the Dallas Cowboys were actually a great football team.
