Welcome, Carrie. And my name is John Strykermeyer. I'll be your host today and we're taking a little different tack here today.

One of the stories that has been ongoing since we've done our series here and as well as my

interviews with Jocko Willing previously on his podcast is about SOG being compromised.

SOG was the eight-year secret war and during that war we had the highest casualty rate

and we always wondered why.

Well today we have a special guest with us who did not serve in Saog but has insights on the

compromise aspects which begin with the U.S.S.

Pueblo being seized in North Korea.

Cambodia and I recommend it reading for all and like we said when we first started there, the USS Pueblo was seized in early 68 by the North Koreans at the behest of the Russians.

Yes. And when they came into port, the Russians took a lot of their radio encryption equipment,

state of the art for 1968.

Correct.

What was all known was that it went back to Cambodia and other places but the key thing

was for the impact on the war was the Cambodians were able to work the Russians used it there and here's another

sidebar this is from my book on the ground because the the sidebar to this was from 1967 until 1985, Navy sailor John Anthony Walker Jr.

provided the KGB with vital U.S. cryptographic secrets to decipher coded military messages.
