on Jesus Christ, then this.

And theologians refer to this as our union with God through Christ, our supernatural

union and communion that we have with God.

And so that the life of God flows into us.

And as it does, we grow and we mature because we're, to put it another way, we're plugged into God.

And God is plugged into us. It's not a superficial relationship that we have. And there are many people who have a

superficial relationship with God. They walk into a church building and they repeat certain hymns and they listen to a message, but many people

don't know God.

They just have the outward trappings of religion but they don't have a relationship

with God.

And so when he says by this he's talking about our personal intimate union with God that God abides in us and we abide

in Him. That's tight. And Jesus had already alluded to that in

John 14 verse 20 when he said I am in my father and you in me and I in you.

This mystical union that we have with God and his son, Jesus Christ.

So he says by this, as a result of this, because of this, love is perfected in us.

That tells me love cannot be perfected in anyone

if they're not plugged into God

and if they're not abiding in God and God abiding in us.

Now another question we have to ask is this love.

Love is perfected in us.

There's two ways to interpret this. Two ways to understand this, and we have to ask the question, which way is it?

Is this God's love for us or is this our love for God?
