Hope in the midst of trials.

That's what we're studying on through the Bible as our teacher, Dr. J. Vernon McGee,

begins our study of First Peter with an important introduction to the book and the man who wrote it.

As Dr. McGee tells us, throughout history, some have called Peter an ignorant fisherman,

but we'll discover just how wrong they are as we dig into some of the most

significant doctrines in our faith as we study his writings. I'm Steve Schwartz, your host. Now,

last time we studied together, Dr. McGee told us why he created the tradition of reading letters

so that we can celebrate what God's doing in our lives and through our prayers for others.

And it's still something that we love doing today.
