Little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Have you heard that expression before?

Well, in this study on Through the Bible, our teacher, Dr. J. Vernon McGee, is going to give us the doctrine of election.

It's a tough subject and one that Dr. McGee says many people take a little bit of knowledge of and then they run with it entirely the wrong way.

And our study begins in 1 Peter chapter 1, verse 2.

So let's listen now.

Now our study today is going to bring us to the doctrine of election.

But I'm going through the Bible, and I confront every doctrine,

every problem that there is in the word of God, and try to handle it the best I can. I'd rather

not deal with this. And I find that there are great, many little groups today that have gone off on this doctrine,

and someone has said a little knowledge is a dangerous thing,

and they feel like probably they've mastered the doctrine of election,

and so far none of the great theologians have mastered it,

but they have, and they'll not find any comfort in what

we're going to say today, I can assure you that. But I would like, though, to share some letters

with you that really have brought good cheer to our heart, because this is what through the Bible
