Hello. Hello and welcome to 10 days of festive fear 2024 and we are on day number seven.

And I have three spooky stories for you today.

And the last story comes from the 18th of October 24.

And story number one comes from Kirstie. Despite a long-standing

interest in all things spiritual, I have remained stubbornly skeptical for a long time. When considering

what stories to share, I realised that it is quite absurd given how many paranormal experiences I've

actually had. The two stories I've decided

to share sound unbelievable, to the point that I have doubted myself, but I know that's what's

happened. The first story is from my first year of training as a student midwife. My mentor, Anne and

myself were on the night shift and looking after a young woman in labour called Julie.

She had her mother with her for support, Mary, and over the course of the night Mary had told us how her own mother had wanted to be there, but had recently died unexpectedly.

We shared our condolences, but the loss still being recent, Julie and Mary wanted to focus on the upcoming birth and so we moved on.

As the night progressed, so did Julie's labour, and we were finally at the pushing stage.

I took up position halfway down the bed on Julie's right.

Anne was opposite me but further down towards the foot of the bed with Mary

up by Julie's head, holding her hand and offering words of encouragement. Contrary to what the media

will lead you to believe, the pushing stage of labour can take quite a long time, so we were

standing there quite a while. At some point, I noticed any time Mary changed her

position or leant over the bed, she would stop suddenly and glance over her left shoulder, the nearest

one to Anne. This went on for maybe five or ten minutes before Mary said to Anne, I'm sorry, I keep feeling

like I'm getting in your way.

This was despite there being a good foot or two between them.
