Hi, this is Steve. When John and I sat down to discuss Alfred Hitchcock's vertigo, we were pretty sure it would end up being a two-parter. But our plan was still to record the whole thing in one night. What we didn't expect was just how intense and emotionally draining an evening discussing vertigo was going to be. But the time we got to the halfway point,

we were absolutely wiped out. The fact that we were recording after both of us

that had brutally long days probably had something to do with it, but it's also just the nature

of the film. So we decided to stop there, rest, and regroup before tackling part two and I'm so glad we did because those extra few days between recordings allowed us to dig even deeper into this powerful and disturbing film.

I try to do as close as possible. It's very melodramatic. I mean it's hard for one man to bring up the full

orchestra Bernard Herman.

It is really powerful.

Yeah, that's a tough one to live up to.

So when we left Vertigo, Jimmy Stewart, he had, Scotty, had made the incredible choice of saying rather than

just following this one, I think I should go with her and and then they and they went to this these beautiful

trees and then they went to this ocean and next to the cresting waves as they

embrace each other they kiss.
