She's the first ever CEO of Madewell, one of the few really successful brands right now

at a difficult time for retail. She was one of the early pioneers

behind the company and she helped incubate it inside of J. Crew. Her decades of experience

in retail include time at Coach and Gap where she worked with retail legend Mickey Drexler,

who she calls a mentor. Plus, she's now on track to be the CEO of a public company since Madewell just last

week filed plans to IPO. Our conversation was recorded before the news, but I had a feeling this was
