surprise, Eddie Murphy's 1988 comedy coming to America. Now it might seem strange that this film would beat out heavy hitters like Malcolm X and do the right thing,

but the fact is coming to America was a true cultural sensation and one cannot underestimate the power and popularity of Eddie Murphy in the 80s.

Now this is a great comedy and one of John's all-time favorites,
