Hi this is Steve. It's 2019 and that means a whole new year of films is available for review on the Cinephiles.

As we did last year, we asked you which film in 2009 you would most like to hear us talk about. Our list of options included the

biggest grossing film of all time, Avatar, Colt SciFi hit District 9,

Zach Snyder's adaptation of what is arguably the greatest graphic novel of all time,

Watchman.

J.J. Abrams reboot of Star Trek.

Indie Darling 500 days of summer was on the list, the comedy blockbuster of all Blockbusters,

the hangover, Oscar Winter up in the air, and Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock Holmes.

We thought it would be pretty close, but one film blew them all away taking over 36% of the

vote and that was Quinton Tarantino's World War II film in Glorious Bastards, starring

Brad Pitt, Melanie Laurent, Michael Fastbender, and the incomparable

Christoph Waltz in the performance that won him the Academy Award.

This is without question a fascinating film by a master filmmaker but the truth is I struggle with this movie and you can hear why and what I think was a great conversation with John
