We're back with an all new episode.

Since I've been away since October, we'll start off this season there with two new cases and two updates.

You may have heard that back on October 13th, 2022, a mass shooting took place in Northeast Raleigh, North Carolina that was perpetrated by a juvenile.

The teen stands accused of stabbing and shooting his older brother to death before running through his own neighborhood, shooting whomever he encountered, motive still unknown.

It was a harrowing ordeal for that community and continues to be so.

Law enforcement even issued several updates as the hours-long saga carried into the night.

One of the last new details to come out was that the alleged shooter and only suspect was indeed a minor, a teenage boy.

Raleigh police didn't immediately name him but his own parents quickly identified him as 15-year-old Austin Thompson.

Early reports described him as living on Sahali way in the Headingham neighborhood of Raleigh with his mother, older brother, and handyman father, whom he was known to help with jobs.

One neighbor did tell reporters that he would sometimes see the teen in the early hours of the morning when it was still dark.

He'd be fully dressed in wearing a backpack outside even though school didn't begin for several more hours.

He was in the 10th grade at Nightdale High School and a classmate shared his shock and disbelief telling the press that, quote, he was very calm.

He wasn't like a mean person.

Local WRAL's Chris Levin Good was in contact with the Thompson parents via text since the night of the shootings and said that they learned about the events as they occurred through a Facebook group for their neighborhood.

A neighbor soon texted them directly as they were on their way home to let them know that the shootings had taken place on their very street.

Their shock and grief is too fold as their son's presumed first victim was his own big brother, 16-year-old James Roger Thompson, who was found deceased inside their family home with more than 50 stab wounds and a gunshot wound.

The Nightdale High School 11th grader loved deep sea fishing and had been an avid basketball player in his church's league as a youth.

More recently, he'd been dabbling in food, recreating Gordon Ramsay dishes through tutorials on YouTube.
