Episode 140. Justice for Tristan, the sentencing of Aiden Fouci, war baby here with another episode of murderous minors.

Hey guys, let me start by saying welcome back and then say it's been a staggering 636 days since Abel Acosta went on the run. His whereabouts remain unknown.

This week we will be closing the books on Aiden Fouci, who was arrested and charged in May 2021 with the vicious Mother's Day stabbing death of 13-year-old Tristan Bailey of St. John's Florida.

As you'll recall from our previous coverage, around 9 a.m. on May 9, Mother's Day 2021, Tristan was discovered to be missing from her bedroom.

Her older brother, who was staying overnight at the family home to celebrate the holiday, went to wake her to help with their mother's special breakfast, only to find an empty bedroom.

The competitive cheerleader and youngest of five siblings love spending time with her friends and family, going to Starbucks with her oldest sister and dancing on TikTok.

A frantic search of her St. John's Florida neighborhood ultimately led to the discovery of her body. The Patriot Oaks Academy seventh grader had been viciously stabbed 114 times and left an upon at the end of one of the streets in their neighborhood.

Her family, who lovingly refer to themselves as the Bailey 7, remained shattered.

February 6, 2023 marked what was supposed to be the start of the capital-murdered trial of now 16-year-old Aiden Fouci, aged 14 at the time of the crime.

The prosecution had previously filed a motion for a six-person jury at trial, which was granted a strategic move that legal experts believe would result in an easier conviction.

That jury was supposed to be seated on February 6th, but instead, Fouci surprised everyone and changed his not guilty plea to guilty.

Tristan Bailey's family said that Fouci's quote, surprise change of plea, brings our family significant relief.

Make no mistake, the most important things to our family at this time are justice and Tristan's legacy.

Although no explanation was provided, analysts assumed that Fouci changed his plea because as a minor, he'd be entitled to a sentence review that could lead to a reduced sentence or even release after 25 years should he be sentenced to life in prison.

There was really no reason to think he would not be convicted at trial.

Fouci disclosed at his plea hearing that he was taking lithium, which can be used to treat bipolar disorder, zyprexa, which treats schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, as well as remuron, commonly prescribed to treat major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety.

After his arrest, his friends were interviewed and those recordings were released following his Miller hearing to determine whether he would receive a term of years or life in prison.

The hearing shed some light on his personality. With his best friend telling police that quote, he said he wanted to slit someone's throat.

He said it'd be satisfying. I've seen him practice stabbing motions with his knife. And I mean, you don't really take this stuff as in he's going to stab and kill somebody because he's just a kid. We're all just kids.

He said that the night Tristan was murdered, they had planned to steal marijuana from Fouci's father, calling his friend a stereotypical quote, big pot head, while Fouci's girlfriend at the time said in her recorded interview that he had beaten up another kid in the past
