Summary

Craving for and attachment to feelings is what leads to suffering; on the flip side of that, awareness and understanding of our feelings can lead to Enlightenment. In this episode, I will share my thoughts around the Buddhist concept of feelings tones / Vedana.

1:01.5	In today's podcast episode I want to introduce you to a word, a term, a concept that comes
1:07.7	from Buddhism, and it's Vedana.
1:11.1	I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing that correctly, but it's V-E-D-A-N-A, and this comes
1:16.8	from the Pali and Sanskrit, it's an ancient term traditionally translated as either feeling
1:23.8	or sensation.
1:25.9	In general, this word, Vedana, refers to the pleasant, unpleasant or neutral sensations
1:34.5	that occur when our sense organs come into contact with sense objects and the associated
1:41.5	consciousness.
1:43.1	This is what is referred to in psychology as the hedonic tone.
