It's a good day to get to be alive.

I am so thankful that I get to be here with you today to help you get today started right.

The title of today's episode of the Big Life Devotional podcast is all about the fun. I was just telling the Big Life mentoring

girls who are watching me record this live that today's episode, I feel like is kind of a message

that God spoke for me. I'm going to share it with you because maybe it's for you as well. Let's see. All about the fun.

Where do we find meaning and fulfillment for this life? We're all searching for it, but where do we

find it? King Solomon was granted the gift of wisdom by God.

He was made to be the wisest man ever to live, knowing more than anyone else. Yet he too struggled

to find meaning and fulfillment in this life that would be here one day and gone the next.

And the book of Ecclesiastes is his quest to find what he was missing.

And the problem was, as we discovered yesterday in our devotional time together,

Solomon had temporarily fallen away from God, and his search was limited to what could

be found, quote, under the sun. Under the sun is what we see. Under the sun is what is here and what is now.

However, meaning and fulfillment for this life cannot be found under the sun because

all of this is temporary. Without an eternal perspective and the big picture, we are left

desperately wanting.
