I was a senior BYU six Mormon intellectuals were either actually communicated or disfellowshipped

kind of all in the same month and I may be getting details wrong but it was for publishing and

discussing issues like feminism and other sorts of things that the brethren didn't like and it was

a really formative moment for me but it was more importantly a really big moment in Mormonism

I would say and you've probably heard me discuss the September 6th hundreds of times on

Quinn a few times and also Margaret Tuscano who is considered to be by some to be a part of this

on some amazing books related to D. Michael Quinn including a new biography that's coming out

she realized that we needed a good book on the September 6th and she wanted someone who could take

a journalistic approach but who is an academic and who could write it in a year less and she turned
