He's been a physical therapist since 1985 and entered the world of providing manual therapy

education for SLPs in 2013.

Since then he has had the honor of working with thousands of SLPs and

related professionals through the Foundations and Manual Therapy

seminar including voice and swallowing disorders, including Voice and Swallowing Disorders,

Advanced Voice and Swallowing Disorders, and the new balancing the body.

Walt's approach to Manual Therapy moves the understanding onwards from

older tissue-based explanations into one that includes shared decision-making and

multi-factorial possibilities for explaining the actions of hands-on work.

He works to build a bridge between these new views on the effects of manual therapy with the SLP,

allowing them to use both the multi-factorial understanding of manual therapy's effects,

coupled with the potential for a richer patient engagement via shared decision-making intervention models.

In early 2022, Walt's first book,

manual therapy and voice and following disorders

will be released by Compton Publishing. Mixed in with his busy teaching schedule,

Walt sees patients in his upstate New York physical therapy practice.
