This week I’m joined by Dr. John Abramson. John is a physician and author of Overdo$ed America. His new book, Sickening: How Big Pharma Broke American Health Care and How We Can Repair It, is out this week. John consults as an expert in litigation involving the pharmaceutical industry and has served as an unpaid consultant to the FBI and Department of Justice. He teaches health policy at Harvard University and has incredible insight and knowledge about how the medical and pharmaceutical industry works. In this conversation he gives examples of litigations against pharma companies, the marketing plans they come up with to push certain drugs, and how the entire medical Industry—from academic peer reviewed studies to our local family doctors--is intrinsically linked to these commercial entities.
