the sporty bit of Renault. The name they used to go Formula One racing with, and that'll be Alpine.

And this time, a new vehicle from them, the unveiling of the A390 model.

It's coming on May 27th. It's a five-seater sport fastback designed to rival the Porsche McCann Electric, the Tesla Model Y performance edition.

Now, Savani Ang, Alpine's vice president for product performance, said the A390 will offer

handling similar to a lightweight A10 sports car.

It features a trimotor power train, so we are talking the real deal here, some serious

business with one motor at the

front and two on the rear, delivering up to 600 horsepower, 447 kilowatts of power. This setup provides

all-wheel drive and active torque vectoring for improved cornering. A less powerful dual motor version is

planned. The A390 is built on the AMPR, or maybe I'm meant to say

Amper, medium platform. Used to be called CMFEV. Shared with the Renault scenic and the Nissan

Aria. Now those are not particularly hot and spicy vehicles, but Alpine will spice this one up, modifying the chassis

with a wider track, larger brakes, and positioned as a sport fastback. Okay, rather than a traditional

SUV, the A390s design reimbles last year's A390 concept. A teaser image reveals a sharply pointed front end with a full width light bar

and Alpine lettering. Now Alpine's naming system uses A followed by three numbers. So 390 or 390,

reflecting its size relative to models like the Hot Hatch, their version of the Renault 5, but Alpine are again spicing it up,
