On April 11, 2022, the trial that took over everyone's lives began, Johnny Depp sued

Amber heard for defamation due to an op ed.

She wrote for The Washington Post where she referred to herself as a quote, public figure

representing domestic abuse.

She was asking for $50 million while she countersued for $100 million.

Both Johnny Depp and Amber heard alleged domestic abuse from the other.
