Here's a scenario for you.

Imagine that next week you have a late season Cowell-Kunt,

and then you're off to Arizona for a public land Coosdear hunt.

Spring Bear on Vancouver Island, where they routinely shoot monster black bears, is next.

In this coming September, you have a Moose, Caribou, and Mountain Grizzly combination hunt, before heading home for a family deer hunt.

Sounds like one heck of a season, right?

But here's the kicker.

You have to do all of this with just one rifle. What cartridge do you choose?

Now many folks would pick a 30 caliber magnum and for good reason. 30 calibers offer enough bullet weight and enough

frontal diameter for pretty much any game that walks the North American continent with a couple of

caveats although a lot of people use 30 caliber magnums for the bigger bears

coastal brown bears and so forth, I maintain that that's not an optimal choice, but a lot of people do it.

However, from Moose down, it's really hard to beat. While there are a ton of great 30 caliber

magnum options the top trending fast 30s today seem to be the legendary historic 300 Winchester

Magnum definitely the most proven of all of the 30 caliber magnums and the almost brand new 300 PRC.

Now this latter cartridge has surprised me quite a bit.

It was designed by a Hornity not too long ago.

I used prototype ammunition and a couple of early rifles made by GA precision and chambered for the 300 PRC

well before it was ever announced. I went to Africa with a few friends,

one of them was Neil Emory my good friend at Hornity and we shot a
