So I'd like to start by asking you when you first heard about Alfred Napp, the Hamilton

Strangler and how you came to write this book.

Yeah, actually I kind of grew up with Alfred Napp.

This crime that he was convicted of took place in my hometown and he was famed for being

the first electric chair case in Butler County.

So you always kind of heard about him when you're interested in local history, but I never

really got the full story of it until I started digging into the research.

I guess what happened was I worked for the local newspaper here, the Hamilton Journal

News for about 25 years.

And I don't think I need to explain what's going on with the newspaper industry.

So when they offered me a buyout in the fall of 2013, I had to struggle to find something
