Hi, this is Steve from the Cinephiles. In our next episode, John and I are going to talk about one of our all-time favorite films, nominated for 11 Academy Awards. It won 8, including Best Picture, actor, Screenplay, and Director.

It is, of course, the 1984 Classic, directed by Milos Foreman Amadeus.

It's from a Peter Schaefer screenplay and stars the incomparable F Murray Abraham as Salieri.

For those of you who don't know, Amadeus is the story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his great rival Salieri. It's got everything you want from a movie,

Classical Music, Opera, Wigs, Guys in Tights. Okay, but seriously, Amadeus is not only a brilliantly

directed, beautifully acted period piece, but it is also funny and vulgar and endlessly surprising.

You can stream this one on Netflix, which is great, but it's also available for Rental on YouTube and

purchase through iTunes. There's also a Blu-ray available of the

Director's Cut, but just so you know, John and I actually prefer the

theatrical cut on this one, so it's up to you which one you want to watch.
