So today we are talking about a few things, the steering wheel, which is one of my favorite

things.

And from friends I know who have talked to me about my dad, they love the steering

well as well.

I've actually seen it in a group setting. I think you've done, and it's pretty

powerful. Anyway, lots of other stuff. I don't really have anything else to say, Dad. Go for it. Just

jump on in there. All right. Well, basically, the style of therapy that I do is followed after a guy

by the name of Milton Erickson, who's kind of

considered the father of hypnosis, of clinical hypnosis in this nation. And he did, he talked

in metaphors. So the work that you're going to be hearing from me in all of these podcasts,

there's going to be a whole bunch of different metaphors. And this is the metaphor I use and have been using for 45 years now

that will give me some information and hopefully give you some information about the work that I do.

I can very clearly say to you that my work is based upon the principle of agency or emotional independence.

And the byproduct of emotional independence is our capacity to love skyrockets. And that's a very direct way of saying

it. But when we couch the message in a metaphor, oftentimes the metaphor stays with us longer,

and to interpret the metaphor, we have to think about a little bit more, which embeds it deeper
