Christian stewardship begins with the correct understanding that everything we have belongs to the Lord.

Stewardship, then, is not just a focus on money or material things, but also encompasses every spiritual blessing. In this study, making the most of all God

has given, Scott Pauley teaches biblical principles for Christian stewardship. One day, we will meet God

and give an account of how we have handled all of the resources he has put in our hands. Let's listen intently to learn how God expects us to steward his resources.

As we come to our final study in the principles of Christian stewardship, I want to tell you, we've just scratched the

surface. We've barely done that because there's so much to learn in the Word of God about how to

make the most of all God has given us. But I want to end our study today in 1 Timothy chapter 6 because

the Apostle Paul in a handful of verses I think

sums it all up beautifully and I want to leave you with four things you need to remember if you're

going to be a good steward let's read just a little bit beginning in 1st timothy chapter 6 and

verse number 5 Paul is describing the world we're living in,

a world of proud men and wicked men and people that are living for time and not eternity. And he says

in verse 5, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness from such,

withdraw thyself.

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Look at verse 5 and look at verse 6.

Verse 5 is the motto of modern Christianity.

Gain is godliness.

More stuff, more money, more things.

If you have all that, then you must be blessed.

God smiled upon you.

But the motto of biblical Christianity is verse six.
