The Hello and welcome to mini episode number 4009 of real-life ghost stories. And I have three spooky

stories for you today and the last story comes from the 24th of October 2024. And story number

one comes from Claire. I was born in Scotland,

moved to Canada at a young age and stupidly moved back to Scotland. But that's for another

podcast. I've always been a believer. My mom's a believer. Her grandfather would come to her

in her dreams when a relative died or when

she had clairvoyant readings done. My stepdad is a non-believer, point-blank, period.

Back when I was in my mid-teens, my maternal grandmother was visiting us in Canada.

My mom, my grandmother and I were sitting at the breakfast bar when the stereo

turned itself on and started playing the CD inside. We all looked at each other and my grandmother

said, oh, the fourth generation has joined us. Was it a ghost or was the timer on? Years later, my mom and I were back in Scotland. We had just finished supper.

She was doing the dishes and I was just finishing the last of my food.

When a fork rolled off the counter, sitting out of reach of both of us.

In the same house as the rolling fork, my stepfather was

looking up the stairs talking to my mom. He felt someone put their hands on his shoulders. He

spun around thinking it was me. He looked back at my mom, to which she said, Claire's not home.

We moved into a new home in 2011. It was only two years old at the time.

My mother and stepfather were out shopping and I was still in bed after a sports, Kaylee.

The stairs were right at the front door and as my stepfather was passing the stairs with the shopping, he said good morning. He came back out to the car and my mom asked who he was talking to and he

said, Claire, she looked at him puzzled and replied with, Claire wasn't there. When he told me

the story later, he recalled that it felt like there was someone at the top of the stairs, but it gave him a protective feeling, like someone was protecting me.
