In today's webinar we'll discuss a type of depression called seasonal

effective disorder. You might also know it as the winter blues. Shorter daylight hours in the colder months of the year

may contribute to a decrease in the brain chemical serotonin which helps

regulate mood. Seasonal effective disorder can cause sadness, sleep problems, and low energy.

Seasonal effective disorder, or sad for short, disproportionately affects people with ADHD.

depression and health, as all four are connected. And I'll try to walk you through it, talk you through it, because everything we experience in our body and in our mind is timed and timing is everything for functioning and if we don't live on time that means in accordance with the 24 hour dark and light cycle. We are living out of face or we jet lag.

We all know what jet lag is. But people with ADHD tend to sleep late as a rule.

It happens in about 80% of both children and adults with ADHD.
