He lived and served God under a wicked king, and yet, in spite of the wickedness around him,

he was a man who not only walked with

God he had the power of God on his life in this study a man like us in times like

Do you ever get tired? The answer to that is we all do. And the real question is, what do you

do when you are tired? Did you know that tired people often make bad decisions?

Hasty decisions.

They speak in discouragement.

They operate in frustration.

In fact, I would say to you in a very practical but a very spiritual piece of

counsel that when you are tired, you most need to be on guard because the devil

You're not up every day. Some days you're just worn out, weary, wounded,

discouraged, maybe you're there today. And this is the glimpse we get of the prophet Elijah,

not calling down fire on caramel, not praying in rain, not enjoying God's provision by the

brook Cherath or raising a widow woman's son. No, the picture we get of Elijah in First Kings 19 is a body overworked, nerves on edge,

emotionally depleted, just tired.

I say again, after great victories, often the greatest battles come of those moments.
