It's so easy to get into automatic negative thoughts and not even realize we're having them.

Before we go into the episodes, I wanted to share some things at work for a couple of my coaching

Let's call one of them Cheryl, she will say to herself, Cheryl, right now you're

thinking about your ex, when it's time now to prepare for the board meeting that you have in three hours.

And yes, there's work to be done about complicated feelings, about her ex,

but she's redirecting herself to the task at hand.

And speaking of hands, something else that works for another coaching client

is she will physically touch something.

So maybe it's her desk and she'll notice the grooves the temperature

and she'll compare it to the temperature of her hands. She says when she's in the kitchen

she'll feel the temperature of the handles on the drawers
