Summary

Since rejection was very much a part of Jesus' life, we shouldn’t be surprised when we find it to be a part of our lives, too. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the varied responses we see to Jesus’ ministry in the Gospel of Luke. He faced a lot of opposition, but life-changing transformation was available to those who chose to believe and obey what He said. In Luke, Jesus acknowledges the spiritual forces at work in this world, and Pastor Allen shows us how we can apply that understanding to our culture today in areas like schooling, work, and politics. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome the rejection in our lives so the plans and purposes of God can be fulfilled.

0:00.0	There's a lot of literature and contemporary evangelicalism that says we need to have

0:09.3	And I believe that.
0:10.5	I believe we need to be engaged with people who don't know anything about
0:13.1	the kingdom of God. The challenge I think we faced is we've done these sinners
0:18.0	parties and we've gathered to sympathize with their sin. Jesus met with them to call them to repentance, which is a change of thought
0:24.9	and a change of behavior. The message we hold out to the world isn't that we know it's difficult
0:30.0	to say no to sin. We do know that. We've all struggled with that ourselves. The
0:33.9	message we hold out is that if you will repent and choose a new way of life, there's
0:37.9	a better kind of existence under the sun.
