I'm All right. Coming to you from Sitches, Spain at this point. I arrived yesterday afternoon, slept 11 hours last night, walked around today. I recorded this

intro while I was walking around, but I just listened to it and it's too fucking noisy.

Don't want to subject you to all the traffic and the the weirdness out on the streets and also

like my distraction I found that it's strange for me to be walking down the street talking to

myself so there were lots of long pauses and I kind of lost the thread of what I was talking about.

It's strange.

I got these new microphones and they're awesome.

They're these little clip-on things.

They're wireless lapel mics, basically.

And they make the whole rigamarole, all the gear of podcasting.

They break it down to something, you know, as small as a mobile phone.

And so they're super convenient, but I found that after over a decade of doing this,

not holding a microphone in my hand or having a

microphone on the table in front of me is strange. I guess I'm just so used to the signifiers

of recording that to just be talking into nothing is strange to me. Like I want to have a microphone.

It reminds me of, you know, like these talk shows, you know, David Letterman or Jimmy Kimmel or

whatever, all these fucking late night talk shows,

those people are all miced up with lapel mics, but they've got this microphone on the desk

in front of them that's not connected to anything.

It's not an active microphone.

It's just a prop.

And I always assumed it was for the audience, you know, to sort of create the effect of,
