0:22.0 | Wilderness a brand new series starring Jenna Coleman watch now only on prime video. |
0:30.0 | Hey everyone Bank of a Radio episode number 678 today a little bit of a different show. I am not the host my co host Tom is the host and he interviews Jesse who's been on the show before and you'll hear that introduction. |
0:49.0 | And the show is all focused around females and training and what's kind of changed over the last couple of years especially with the pandemic because some really alarming statistics have come out and I think this is an incredibly insightful show. |
1:06.0 | So Tom brought it to me as I may get this on the podcast sounds brilliant so here you go I'll let Tom introduce and set the tone for the show enjoy. |
1:18.0 | Hello everyone and welcome to Ben Cumber Radio you here with me Tom unusual co host but then has asked me to come on here to speak to one of our BTN graduates very successful coach and absolute legend Jesse Lambert Harden so Jesse welcome to the show. |
1:35.0 | Hi Tom thanks for having me thanks Ben wherever you are. |
1:39.0 | So you're very welcome this is massively overdue by the way thank you. |
1:44.0 | So Jesse obviously we have an article that I asked you on today to talk about because I think you've got a lot of really interesting and valuable input but for the listeners if you wouldn't mind can just give us a two minute introduction and let everyone know who you are. |
2:00.0 | So I'm a personal trainer and a nutrition coach mainly face to face now thank I was working a lot online but now I'm back to face to face which I much prefer. |
2:14.0 | I work for myself I don't have anyone working for me I'm a mom of two and juggling a lot. |
2:24.0 | I live in Brighton and yeah I guess I did the BTN course in 2017 and I've just gone on to get more and more interested in behaviors working with women particularly I don't work with any men actually I tend to pass those on to other people |
2:45.0 | because I just relate to women they relate to me and I tend to get clients because they like my sort of laid back realistic kind of style so yeah and that's why I'm here because I'm passionate about helping women. |
3:02.0 | Well this is it just very briefly I'm just completely personally interested you started face to face and then you moved online and then you've gone back face to face what caused those two transitions. |
3:15.0 | Well I do still do some online but I think when it came to covid as for a lot of people I think I felt very hemmed in and this will probably come to light a bit more later when we talk about. |
3:30.0 | Barry is I felt very hemmed in in my own space working from home alone a lot in well with kids here at the time but and as soon as I was able to see more people face to face which I always maintain some face to face clients I just realized how much rapport face to face men in the coaching realm. |
3:59.0 | I don't do group I do do group coaching online for an online online community but that's very different so I think it just gives more more variety in terms of being with people and not being with myself all the time and my children all the time. |
4:21.0 | Yeah I can appreciate that I think so I'm I'm not going to say I'm the opposite because that wouldn't be true but I I prefer working online because I quite like having my little my desk and I can sit and I can work from here by myself like I quite enjoy that and I feel like I get a lot of communication with my clients though haven't also worked face to face it's definitely the case that you get less communication online then you do face to face. |
4:49.0 | I think it's one of those things there's no right or wrong I don't think there is a better I think it just matches the coach's preference and the client's requirements so yeah it's it's really honestly a bit interesting and sort of refreshing to speak to someone who coaches face to face because it seems like everything is online right now which is not a problem hopefully because that's what I do but yeah it's just interesting to to chat to a face to face coach. |
5:14.0 | So to move on to the topic of today this chat came about because we host a online free Facebook group so those of you who are listening to this who haven't joined already if you go on Facebook and look for the BTN nutrition coaching community so BTN nutrition coaching community actually that was a lie it's the BTN nutrition coaching club. |
5:36.0 | Yeah so the BTN nutrition coaching club is a free Facebook group in which I do a little discussion post on a Monday I do a live every Wednesday and in there we just talk about the practicalities of coaching nutrition mostly online but just in general and as part of that I shared a new story from the independent that caught my eye because I thought there will be a lot of people who had some particularly interesting ideas around it some experiences and Jesse's someone who's done a lot of things. |
