Jimmy Carter lies in state. Vice President Harris saying Carter established a new model for what it

means to be a former president. From founding the Carter Center, which has helped advance global

human rights and alleviate human suffering to his

public health work in Latin America and Africa.

Harris saying Jimmy Carter left the world better that he founded and may his life be a lesson

for others. Carter's body will lie and stay at the Capitol until Thursday when a funeral service will be held at the National Cathedral in Washington.

He'll be buried in Georgia next to his wife, Rosalind.

The Biden administration has asked a federal appeals court to block a plea agreement for accused 9-11 mastermind,
