New York prosecutors say that's what the man accused of killing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson will face once he's returned to New York.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg announced the addition of first-degree murder to serious counts against Luigi Mangione of second-degree murder with

components of terrorism. A frightening, well-planned, targeted murder that was intended to cause

shock and attention and intimidation. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch joined Bragg and spoke out

against those who have praised Mangione's act.

We don't celebrate murders and we don't lionize the killing of anyone.

Mangione is scheduled for a hearing in Pennsylvania Thursday where he could waive extradition and be returned to Manhattan by the end of this week.

Madison, Wisconsin Police Chief Sean Barnes says authorities are still working to determine the reason a 15-year-old girl

opened fire in a study hall at a Christian school yesterday, killing a teacher and a student

and wounding several others before killing herself.

Identifying a motive is our

top priority, but at this time it appears that the motive was a combination of factors.

Lawrence is urging anyone who may have information on the suspect's feelings to reach out,

saying there are always signs before such an incident, and they are looking into
